Josh and I are in total hibernation mode, but also finding enough energy to get out into the Windy City's Winter Storm.
We are lucky that we are in a part of town that has heating and electricity right now and hopefully will continue to be empowered until we take off for Connecticut.
Chicago is an awesome city. I've never loved it the way locals have, but this visit may be changing things for me. Last night, we went to the Lakeshore Theater, which hosts comedians and alt singers all year round. We saw the Cinematic Titanic Crew take apart Santa Conquers The Martians and it was a blast. We will be back there again tonight and tomorrow night.
The previous evening, Josh and I dined at Spiagga, Chicago's only four star Italian restaurant. We decided to go for the culinary gold and enjoy the white truffle tasting menu. I have been dreaming about it now for two nights. White truffles are way too expensive for me to be addicted to them, but I can't shake the earthy, salty goodness that seemed to accompany everything terrifically. I am imagining white truffle french fries and white truffles on dark chocolate and white truffles on watermelon and pickles. And by the way, I am not pregnant. Just in love with white truffles. I don't think we will be doing this tasting ever again, or at least not for another 10-15 years. All I can say is Yummers, People. Yummers.
Happy Snow Day!
Kayla
PS-I am taking photos but won't be able to download them until we are back in sunny LA. Drats!
