July has been a super busy month for us. Yowzie.
From the end of June until now, we've been to three weddings.
Jon and Leila
Chris and Crystal
Debi and Matt
I've had three writing deadlines due.
Womanthology
Dear Teen Me
Girl Crush
My play, South of Delancey, that I proudly dramaturged, closes today, July 31st, after a 2.5 month, sold-out run. In LA. This is a big deal. Los Angeles is not known for it's huge theater audiences.
I was in one heat wave. (You don't want to see photos of this, trust me.)
And I've been busy with a freelance project. I like being busy...really busy...but now I'm also really happy to be sitting on our love seat, contemplating what we need at the farmer's market this week. I haven't been to the grocery in 4 weeks. Ralph's and Trader Joe's actually sound exciting to me again.
I'm looking forward to the dog days of summer... a slower, hotter August - at least in comparison to July. I kind of want to swim and nap between writing, and eat a fair amount of watermelon and pineapple and any fruits I can get my hands on. Maybe I'll look for a good pair of boots for the Fall, which I haven't done in a long time.
What's on your to-do-because-you-want-to list?
